James Lisi, CVA, CPIM
Jim Lisi is a Managing Director with The Mentor Group, Inc. His experience spans numerous industries for valuations of businesses, partial interests, and intangible assets (IP). Mr. Lisi has developed rigorous computer models for scenario analysis, discounted cash flows, and strategic alternative investments. Mr. Lisi has applied his business and IP financial modeling to the following types of engagements: preparation for sale; capital raising; buyouts and M&A; partner disputes; ESOPs; IRA minimum distributions; litigation and family law; IRC 409A; bankruptcy; non-profits; estate and gift tax; and many other purposes. In addition to specific valuations, Mr. Lisi has expertise in many aspects of business operations – budgeting, business plans, strategic planning, financial systems, government contracts inventory control, manufacturing controls, and distribution. This in-depth knowledge managing his own businesses is invaluable to solving complex valuation issues.
He has published technical articles on key aspects of discounted cash flow models and requisite discounts. He challenges the status quo of valuation theories to create easily understood and supportable opinions in his reports.
Prior to joining The Mentor Group, Mr. Lisi was a partner at American ValueMetrics. He also owned and operated a private business for 15 years; served as Executive Director of a non-profit; and held various management roles at Eaton Corporation.
